'Crown' star Dominic West explains his falling out with Prince Harry: 'I said too much'

"The Crown" star Dominic West reveals he and Prince Harry had a falling out in real life.
The actor who portrayed Prince Charles in Seasons 5 and 6 of the Netflix drama inspired by Queen Elizabeth II, the late monarch of Britain's royal family, was asked about his relationship with Harry while appearing on Times Radio. West, 54, and Harry trekked the South Pole in 2013 for Walking With the Wounded, a UK charity benefiting injured veterans.
When asked if Harry offered any advice for tackling the role of Charles, West explained the two are no longer on speaking terms.
"I said too much in a press conference and so we didn't speak after that," West said. "I think I was asked what we did to celebrate when we got there and probably said something too much."
West previously described lively post-expedition celebrations, ABC News reported at the time of the excursion.
"Most of us, Harry included, just went on a two-day bender with the Icelandic truck drivers who had brought some lethal home brew with them," West said. "There was a lot of liqueur drunk."
West added that all the participants also gulped champagned from the prosthetic legs of soldier injured in Afghanistan. West also said Harry told "filthy" jokes to boost morale on their journey.
Jonathan Pryce, who plays Prince Philip on the show, chimed in during the same interview when he and West were asked if they have had feedback from any of the royals regarding the series.
“One of our cast met one of the royal family who intimated that they watched it,” Pryce said.
“When I was made a knight and went to Windsor, and it was Princess Anne who dubbed me, and I was in the middle of playing her father, and there’d been intimations that she’d seen some of it. And so she put the sword lightly on the shoulder, and I stood up and I said – thinking she was thinking, you know – I said, ‘Oh, I don’t know what to say to you. Um, sorry?' And she said, ‘Why? It’s done now.’ ”
Pryce went on, “Now, whether she meant I was saying sorry for being here tonight, or sorry for, you know, you’ve played my father … the way you’ve done it … It was quite an amusing moment, for me at least.”
Netflix released its final six episodes of "The Crown" on Dec. 14. The first installment of Season 6, released in November, focused on the final weeks of Princess Diana’s (Elizabeth Debicki) life before she was killed in a car crash in Paris in 1997, and the second half covered 1998 to 2005.
